Our Lab is Up and Running

We moved into our “new home” a small, outfitted lab in the Michigan Research Institute (MRI) in May 2021.  We are almost fully equipped for anything!  The nice thing about moving into a collaborative place such as MRI is that there are facilities available for everyone to use, such as laminar flow and chemical hoods.

We have the ability to make buffers, coat & package microtiter plates and wash assay plates automatically. and a In addition, we have a wonderful reader, a Molecular Devices M5e plate reader that will read almost every signal available including UV and visible absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence, fluorescence polarization, TRF and HTRF.  It will also read absorbance in cuvettes!  Quite a machine.

Barb and I have always thought that a workplace should be enjoyable to be in.  Our lab has one wall of windows out to the world overlooking grass and trees and our squirrel, chipmunk and Canadian geese “visitors”.  We have a communal lunchroom and shipping and receiving areas.
